About The Department

The Department of Botany was established in the year 1998 with BBM (Biochemistry, Botany and Microbiology) Combination, BCBt (Botany, Chemistry and Biotechnology) in 2005 and CBZ (Chemistry, Botany and Zoology) in 2020, which open diverse career opportunities in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, research laboratories, environmental sciences, healthcare, and academia.

Established with a vision to promote scientific temperament and environmental consciousness, the department combines classical botanical knowledge with modern biological advancements.

The department offers an intellectually stimulating environment where students gain in-depth understanding of plant sciences, biodiversity, biotechnology, ecology, genetics, medicinal plants, and sustainable environmental practices.

The department is enriched with qualified and dedicated faculty members who inspire students through innovative teaching methods, practical exposure, research orientation, and mentorship. Their commitment to academic excellence helps students develop analytical thinking, scientific curiosity, and professional competence.

The laboratories are well-equipped with modern instruments and provide hands-on training in plant anatomy, taxonomy, physiology and plant tissue culture.

Students are encouraged to actively participate in field studies, herbarium preparation, botanical excursions, seminars, workshops, thereby transforming theoretical learning into practical expertise.

The department has consistently produced outstanding academic results and successful alumnae who have excelled in higher education, research institutions, corporate sectors, and teaching professions. Placement opportunities and skill-oriented programs further empower students to become globally competent professionals.
