Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Cell

The institution is committed to maintaining a safe, secure and respectful environment for all students, faculty members, non-teaching staff and visitors. Sexual harassment in any form is strictly prohibited within the campus.

In accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and UGC Regulations 2015, the college has constituted the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to prevent, prohibit and redress complaints related to sexual harassment.

Objectives of POSH Cell

  • To create awareness regarding prevention of sexual harassment.
  • To provide a safe and gender-sensitive environment in the institution.
  • To prevent discrimination and harassment against women.
  • To ensure fair and confidential redressal mechanism.
  • To promote dignity, equality and respect among students and staff.

Functions of POSH Cell

  • To receive complaints related to sexual harassment.
  • To conduct inquiry in a fair and confidential manner.
  • To recommend suitable action against misconduct.
  • To organize workshops, seminars and awareness programmes.
  • To counsel and support affected individuals whenever necessary.

What Constitutes Sexual Harassment?

  • Unwelcome physical contact or gestures.
  • Unwelcome comments, jokes or messages.
  • Repeated unwanted communication or attention.
  • Use of offensive language or visuals.
  • Intimidating, humiliating or discriminatory behaviour.
  • Any conduct of sexual nature affecting an individual's comfort, safety or dignity.

Complaint Procedure

  • Complaint should be submitted in written format.
  • Complaint may be filed within 3 months from the date of incident.
  • The committee will conduct inquiry maintaining complete confidentiality.
  • Appropriate action will be taken based on committee recommendations.

Confidentiality Assurance

The identity of the complainant, respondent and all inquiry proceedings shall be kept strictly confidential as per the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013.
