About IIC

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) Cell is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Established across Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), its primary goal is to systematically foster a culture of innovation, intellectual property rights (IPR), and a start-up ecosystem among students and faculty.

Objectives

  • Establish a state-of-the-art innovation hub with essential infrastructure and expertise.
  • Foster innovative thinking through a collaborative and enabling environment.
  • Empower students and young innovators through skill development and opportunities.
  • Build synergies with local institutions to address community challenges.
  • Bridge the gap between academia and industry.
  • Promote impactful and socially relevant research.
  • Support research through mentorship and guidance.
  • Encourage collaborative research through MoUs and joint initiatives.
  • Enhance cognitive, entrepreneurial, and leadership capabilities.
  • Conduct ideation and brainstorming sessions.
  • Organize awareness and orientation programs for entrepreneurs.

Functions of IIC

  • Identify, recognize, and reward innovative ideas and success stories.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals.
  • Create and maintain a mentor pool for student innovators.
  • Network with peer institutions and national entrepreneurship organizations.
  • Develop an institutional innovation portal showcasing faculty and student projects.
  • Organize hackathons, idea competitions, and innovation challenges in collaboration with industry.
