GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

JSS College for Women, (Autonomous) Saraswathipuram, Mysuru has constituted the Students" Grievances Redressal Committee (2025-26) SGRC as per Gazette Notification -University Grants Commission ( Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023.

Objectives

  • The primary objective of this committee is to provide a transparent, fair and timely mechanism for UG students to raise and resolve academic, administrative and infrastructural issues through a structural process.
  • Upholding the dignity of the college by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the college to promote cordial student-student relationship and student-teacher relationship.
  • The committee is constituted for handling and solving the grievances to express constructive and genuine concerns.
  • It aims to promote and maintain a sustainable, unbiased and positive educational environment.
  • It involves a process of investigation in which Students' Grievance Redressal Committee enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances strictly in a confidential manner.
  • To ensure that the views of each grievant and respondent is neither discriminated against nor victimized.

Student Grievance Redressal Committee of our college typically offers online services via the institution’s Website for students to lodge grievances related to academic, administrative and infrastructural issues. The process often involves filling out a form with personal details and a description of the issue.

Mechanism of SGRC :

Grievances should be brought to the notice of concerned Mentors and Heads of the Departments. The Mentor and Head of the respective departments will address the issue and try to to resolve it within one week of the receipt of the grievance. If there is no response within the stipulated time from the respective department or the grievant is dissatisfied with response/resolution to her grievance, then the grievant is free to represent her grievance to the Institute Grievance Redressal Cell through online approach.

  • On receipt of an online complaint, the institution refers the complaint to the SGRC, along with its comments within 15 days of receipt on the online portal.
  • The SGRC, as the case may be, shall fix a date for hearing the complaint which shall be communicated to the members of the committee.
  • An aggrieved student may appear either in person or authorize a representative to present the case, if the case demands.
  • The SGRC shall send its report with recommendations, if any, to the competent authority of the institution concerned and a copy thereof to the aggrieved student, preferably within a period of 15 working days from the date of receipt of the complaint.

Steps of SGRC Process :

  • Lodging of the complaint:

    Students are required to fill out the Student Grievance Form and submit the same to the convenor of the SGRC.

  • Verification:

    On receiving the complaint, the convenor of the SGRC will record and verify the complaint.

  • Action:

    After verification of the complaint, the Department acts upon the complaint and takes the measures necessary to resolve the issue.

  • Intimating the student:

    Once the complaint has been resolved, the student is informed about the outcome, and the complaint is considered closed by the department.
