About The Department
Zoology is the branch of biology that deals with the scientific study of animal structures, behaviour, physiology, evolution, and their interactions with the environment. The Department of Zoology was established in the year 2020 with a student strength of 65 for the CBZ combination. The department includes CBZ and BZ combinations and provides high-quality, professional teaching faculties. It is well-equipped with modern laboratories, instrumentation, and a wide array of animal specimens, offering practical knowledge to students.
The department is highly motivated toward enriching life science knowledge among students and actively promotes both academic and extracurricular activities.

Best Practices of the Department
- Practicing practical experiments to enhance skills in mounting of invertebrates.
- Guiding students to identify and classify animals, birds, and different species of insects available on campus and in the surroundings.
- Assigning projects such as feather collections and dead insect collections.
- Teaching additional skills beyond the syllabus, such as the method of pinning insects.
- Participating in internship programs in various sectors like milk dairies, apiculture, animal husbandry, and sericulture, along with report preparation.

Objectives
- Club aim is to create awarence about animal protection.
- Provide the information to the students to learn about animal handling and regarding their ethical issues of animal preservation outside of the regular curriculum.
- Develop the skill and creativity regarding about the specimen and insect collection and their preservation.
- Club aim is to create small scale business ideas to students that provide opportunity in their future carrier like fish, prawn culture and poultry.
- To increases the interest about wildlife and raise awareness about biodiversity and habitat preservation.
