Introduced in 1970, Political science taught as optional Subject, Indian Constitution a common Paper for all degree Courses is taught by our faculty.

Objectives
The primary objectives of a Political Science Department are to foster critical understanding of political systems, governance, and public policy, while developing students' research and analytical skills. It aims to cultivate active, ethical, and informed citizenship, preparing students for careers in law, public policy, civil services, and academia.
- Academic Understanding: Imparting knowledge of political theories, ideologies, and classical/modern political thought.
- Systemic Knowledge: Providing in-depth knowledge of local, national (e.g., Indian Political System), and international political structures and processes.
- Research & Analytical Skills: Training students to collect, analyze, and interpret political data and social phenomena.
- Civic Responsibility: Promoting values of equality, justice, democracy, and ethical leadership.
- Career Preparation: Preparing students for competitive examinations (UPSC, KPSC), civil services, law, journalism, and NGOs.
