History

About The Department

The Department of History was established in 1970. It believes that Historical perspective is fundamental to understand the world in which we live. Under NEP History is tagged along with Optional English & Optional Kannada. Under Revised NEP the Courses are HEG, HEP, HEK & HEE.

  • It seeks to cultivate Historical Thinking, Research Skills and a apprecciation of diverse culltures and Heritages.

  • To teach History as an inter Disciplinary subject, tracing links from the most ancient period to the present world.
  • Teaching History as a tool and technique to understand basic human nature.
  • To enable the students to analyze every dynamic situation with a Historical approach.
  • To develop a sense of probing into documents, edicts and Historical monuments.
  • To teach History by subjecting the students to empirical approach by conducting field study tours, visits to Historical places.
