Geography

About The Department

Department of Geography was established in the year 1993-94 with HEG (History, Economics and Geography) combination and KEG (Kannada, Economics and Geography) combination in the year 2008-09. There are few things that put programming in perspective and help students succeed in any field in the future. We update the curriculum every three years to adapt to the evolving technological requirements.

  • Propelling environmental and Geographical issues to the fore front.

  • Embedding Physical & Human Geography in the Syllabus.
  • Creating awareness on the catastrophic results of Global warming.
  • Educating the relevance of Geography in 21st century within the context of curriculum design.
  • Cultivating awareness among the society about the importance of Geoliteracy.

Objectives

  • Promote interest and motivate the students engage in the field of Geography.
  • Educate about the demography (global and national population) and need for Family planning.
  • Joining all disciplines in the academic domain on the issues of development in the social,ecological and economical aspects.
  • Cultivate the sense of awareness among the students on the need of conserve our environment.
  • Develop the ability to conduct, observe, analyze and report the field study.
